America's Next Top Model, American Idol, America's Got Talent and the list goes on.
Premiering tonight, at 8/7c, TV Guide Network gives us America's Next Producer.
America's Next Producer will pit 10 aspiring producers against one another in weekly challenges testing their skill set. In the end, it's the producer who proves to be the most creative that will win $100,000 cash, a production office in Hollywood, and a deal with TV Guide Network.
And for those who have been wondering what has Ananda Lewis been up to that could be considered a real job on television? You will be glad to know she will be serving as host. Ananda's poor career choices (or probably options) on television never ceases to amaze me. But that's a whole other talk show blog entry.
Of course this wouldn't be an 'American' competition if we didn't have a couple of black people in the throws. Sharon Nash, hailing from DC, is currently the casting producer dept. head for America's Got Talent. The second black competitor is Alphonso Wessons. Wessons is from Chicago, IL and is the owner, director and producer of ZoMotion Pictures. Not bad.
So how do we feel about this new addition to the ever growing reality competition culture on TV? While I (for obvious reasons) find this topic interesting to watch in this format, I am not sure if the masses would be?
Would you, America?
