Cashmere Mafia? How About Polyester Gangsta?

So it seems in an effort to keep people tuning in during this long writer's strike, ABC has premiered yet another new show this past weekend entitled, Cashmere Mafia.

Yes, ladies and gents, we have another Sex In The City clone. When will this theme die? But even more disturbing is the fact that, once again, a black woman was not casted as one of the 'powerful', 'beautiful' women who 'have everything they have ever wanted'. Why is that?

Is Lucy Liu the reason a black woman could not be in the mix? Was there only room in the script for one non-white and the Asian got the spot? Or did the writers already know a black woman wouldn't have worked considering the show's title?

Cashmere Mafia. Does sound rather light doesn't it? Well...no worries. I plan to propose a new show to ABC that will feature four black, beautiful and powerful woman and it shall be called.....

'Polyester Gangsta'

What you think?

If you missed the season premiere on Sunday, be sure to catch it tonight at 10/9 c. You can catch all new episodes on Wednesdays and 10/9c.
