When VH1's Best Year Ever named 'rehab' as having the best year ever I knew that could only mean plans were in the works to give 'rehab' it's own reality TV show.
So last night I caught a repeat of the premiere episode of VH1's Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew and a host of washed up junkies formerly known as celebrities.
Ok. Maybe that was a bit harsh. But the truth of the matter is, I do have a slight problem with something as serious as rehab getting its own reality show. But I would be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued by the hour long premiere.
Anyhoo...
Unlike ABC's Cashmere Mafia [click here], Celebrity Rehab had no problem finding a black celebrity to complete their cast.
Remember Jaimee Foxworth? Jaimee played the adorable 'Judy Winslow' on 'Family Matters' for 4 1/2 years before being written off the show. As with most child stars after the cameras stop rolling, no one thinks you are adorable anymore and the reality of being just a normal person with bills sets in, Jaimee turned to chronic at the age of 16 and admits to puffing the next 10+ years of her life away in a big fat blunt. To make 'matters' worse, Foxworth turned to the adult film industry to make ends meet.

Having been on both The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Tyra Banks Show, Jaimee no longer dabbles in porn but still finds herself addicted to marijuana which brings her to Celebrity Rehab. The rehab patient hopes to kick her 12+ blunt a day addiction on camera while still pursuing a career in acting.
The next episode of Celebrity Rehab can be seen tomorrow at 10 PM on VH1.

poor jaimee. sigh
Ugh! What a horrible concept for a reality show. Now they're glamorizing going to rehab? What's so damned glamorous about a bunch of washed up, out of control junkies holding each other's hair back when they vomit? Damn, television has lost its mind!
