Paging Dr. Bassett

Well it seems Angela Bassett has landed her first full-time gig on television. About time!

NBC's popular medical drama series, ER can now be added to Bassett's resume as it has been reported that she will join the cast as a regular starting next season.

Bassett will be playing a tough physician returning to Chicago from Indonesia where she was involved in the tsunami relief. It is said that her character plans to 'shake' things up for the others.

It's no secret that I am huge fan of ABC's Grey's Anatomy. But I may have to catch Angela on ER just to see how she fairs. She tends to over act sometimes but maybe she will be able to pull that back a bit for the sake of TV.

ER airs on Thursday nights at 10/9c. Basset makes her debut on the second episode of next season.
