Remembering Isaac Hayes

Over the weekend, we lost not one but two important black figures in entertainment, the second being none other than soul icon, Isaac Hayes.

Hayes, who suffered from a stroke in 2006, was found collapsed by his treadmill yesterday morning. He was pronounced dead at 2:08 am at the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.

Best known for being the first black composer to win an Oscar for the 1971 'Theme from Shaft', Hayes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and most recently lent his voice to Comedy Central's 'South Park's character, Chef.

Isaas Hayes would have turned 66 on August 22nd.

R.I.P. Isaac. You were a bad motha..'Shut yuh mouth'.
