Have you noticed how many rappers are guest starring (mostly as criminals) in criminal investigation drama series as of late? Over the years a number of rappers have popped on 'crimetime' popular shows such as CSI, Criminal Minds, and Law & Order playing all kinds of sleazy characters on the wrong side of the law.
Law & Order, SVU which currently features rapper Ice-T has casted Outkast member, Big Boi for an upcoming episode due to air in November. Big Boi will play a rapper (that's a stretch) from Westchester called, Gots Money.
Other rappers who are no strangers to crimetime series include, Method Man, Snoop Dogg and Nelly, who just last week guest starred on CSI playing an ex-con turn shady night club owner.
Are rappers turned actors being type casted here? Or should we just be grateful Hollywood is even acknowledging them?
