Macy Gray Wants To Get Freaky With Obama

Catch this sneak peek of Starz new season comedy series, Head Case:

If you've never watched, Head case is about a Hollywood therapist played by Alexandra Wentworth (Oprah's 'Live' Sidekick) who treats the mental health issues of the entertainment industry.

I have to admit Starz is on to something with this show. The cool take on this show are the celebrity guests (Jerry Seinfeld, Macy Gray, Hugh Hefner) who appear as themselves.

Season two of Head Case premieres tomorrow at 10pm ET/PT.

Heeeeeeere's Barack!

President Obama is about to make history yet again as the White House announced yesterday he will be a 'Tonight' show guest on Thursday. This will be the first time a president while in office will be a guest on a late-night TV show.

"By going on the 'Tonight' show, he's showing the country, "Hey, I'm a real person,'"
said Mediaweek TV analyst Marc Herman. [Source]

Other guests scheduled for that night's taping is said to be "Desperate Housewives" Teri Hatcher and and pro wrestler John Cena.

Teri and John have to be hyped that they are about to share a green room with the president. I know I would be!

In other Barack news, it seems MSNBC has an online poll running on President Obama's performance thus far. Apparently Republicans are flooding the poll with 'F' votes. I say we show them. Click here to cast your grade.

The Tonight show with Jay Leno can be seen on weeknights at 11:30/10:30c.

Sticky And Sweety: Candy Girls

Are we feeling Candy Girls?

Last night I was able to watch E's Candy Girls, a new reality TV show which follows the day to day business drama of music industry talent agency, 'Bella'. The agency is owned and operated by Danielle and six 'models' that consider themselves the 'first ladies of hip hop'. Isn't that cute.

Needless to say I couldn't make it through a full episode of this show. I like my 50 cent videos to be just that...a video.

Candy Girls can be seen on Sunday nights at 10:30/9:30c.

So Can 'Black Barbie' Dance?

Last night I watched the season premiere of ABC's Dancing With The Stars just so I can see pint size female rapper, Lil' Kim shake her tail feather.

Check her out:

Lil' Kim was the first celeb to take to the dance floor last night and I have to admit I was impressed. She wasn't perfect, but a lot better than I anticipated. I don't know why but I always thought Lil Kim to have two left feet. I guess time will tell.

Dancing With The Stars can be seen on Monday nights at 8/9c.

Harlem Is...So Not 'Harlem Heights'

Where does one begin?

As you all know I was quite excited yesterday anticipating the premiere of BET's Harlem Heights. As a Harlem resident, I was eager to see how BET and the creators would use the neighborhood as the backdrop for a program following eight ambitious 20-somethings pursuing their professional dreams.

Now I can be pretty tough on BET sometimes. If you look through some of the BONTV 'BET' archives I'm sure you'd be hard pressed to find one where I am not bashing BET. But even with all the negative reviews, I always give BET the benefit of the doubt and tune in when I think they may be on to something. Unfortunately, this was not one of those times so let the bashing begin.

From the minute the show opened with Bridget's narration and introduction of her 'friends' I realized I had been duped by BET once again. Shame on me for thinking BET was going to create 'anew' with this program. If this was to be a reality show set in Harlem at the very least they could have kept it 'real'. Instead we were force fed overly staged/rehearsed corny scenes, cheesy narrations, one preachy quote after another, boujy restaurant gatherings that made me think this show was set in Buckhead, Atlanta vs. Harlem, New York City.

So in short, Harlem is so not 'Harlem Heights'. Take it from this Harlem-ite.
