Ok, so last week I neglected to talk about the last half hour of the 2-hour primetime night I like to call 'Black Monday'. And trust me that was for a reason! You may recall I didn't have any favorable things to say about CW11's "All of Us". But while that show is stuck in the middle of two of my favorites, this waste of an half hour aka "The Game"is the last show of our Black Monday line-up airing at 9:30 pm.
So at 9:28 you know I am looking for the remote, right?
I think I watched this show once in it's entirety when it first aired, only to see what our all grown up 'sister' Tia Mowry was up to. And after about 10 minutes into the show I realized that Tia nor the remaining cast of bad actors (with the exception of Wendy Racquel Robinson) really have a flop show on their hands and better keep auditioning.
Yesterday, I subjected myself again to this half hour torture just for the sake of this write-up. (Who ever said blogging is easy work?) "America's Next Top Model", Eva Pigford, was a guest star on last night's episode. Eva is about 120 lbs of beauty that couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. So I guess this was perfect casting on their part. And so now I can sympathize with the millions of actresses trying to get their big break on TV but can't get the parts because they are being handed over to models/musicians who in my opinion shouldn't even be casted for anything outside of Sesame Street.
I dont want to sit here and tell you I watched the entire episode closely. Because I didn't. In fact, I couldn't. Whoever came up with the idea of a show that focuses on the ups and downs of the dating/married life of professional black football players quite frankly...shouldnt have. Not that I dont think there is a 'black' story to be told here. Just not this one.
All I want to know is why did we lose "Eve" and "Half & Half"in the Black Monday transition from UPN to CW11? Yeah....Will & Jada saw to "All of Us" continued existence. But what big name is behind "The Game"? Sure enough I saw "Girlfriends'" executive producer, Kelsey Grammar in the rolling credits. So does this mean we the black public have to be subjected to this foolishness for 4+ seasons?
Say it isn't so.
