One of my favorite dramedies on TV right now is ABC's Desperate Housewives. Yea, this season much like the first lacks color but despite how fair shaded everybody is this show is excellent!
But I can't help but wonder why black people can't be featured in the show just a little bit more. Last season the show casted Alfre Woodard as the black desperate housewife trying to keep one of her psycho son out of jail while keeping the other out of Bree's daughter panties. I didnt care too much for the second season and this story line was partly to blame. My excitement over the black cast entering in its second season quickly faded as I watched the plot unfold. All the other characters seem to have some really good plots and here was Alfre keeping white folks out her business as she breaks the law. Damn!
While last night's episode was good I still desire to see some more color during the hour drama. And a black nurse in the hospital where Bree ends up after an "accident" doesn't cut it. I would also like to see a black housewife re-enter the scene but one who has some sexual appeal. (This is not a diss to Alfre) I just want a character that will banter well with the other desperate chicks. And it wouldnt hurt if she was a looker. Here's my top 3 picks of sisters who I think would be ideal in keeping the shade over on Wisteria Lane. My number 1 being:
1. Vivica Fox - Ghetto, yet polished enough to go toe to toe with Bree, Edie and Gabrielle.
2. Nia Long - Nia is sexy and have a sweet likeable persona. Maybe too sweet?
3. Queen Latifah or Monique - Sexy comes in all sizes and so any of these two will do. Personally, I am leaning more towards the Queen.
Hhhmmmmm. Maybe I need to write an episode and submit quick!
