So we are four weeks deep into the new cycle of America's Next Top Model and coincidentally, we have already seen four black models sent home. What's up with that?
For cycle 11, Tyra took the competition back to the west coast citing California is where it all began for her. Personally, I just think the cost and rules were just too much for this show to handle while filming in New York City.
Anyhoo....
First to be chopped was Chicago native, Sharaun. Sharaun just didn't have what it takes and that was obvious from the get. Her being the first to get cut shouldn't have come as a surprise to anybody.
The following week, we saw 'talk-too-damn-much' Nikeysha, get sent back to her (and my) hometown of The Bronx. Nikeysha was in the bottom two the following week with Sharaun, and to be honest, Tyra could have done a double elimination if you ask me. How Nikeysha beat out all them other girls to even get that far in the competition is a wonder to me.
The third week, 'too pretty to be a model' Brittany, was sent back to house to 'pack up her belongings'. Brittany really was sent home prematurely. In Tyra's words...'She got the goods'. Too bad she didn't know what to do with it.
Which brings us to the elimination of black transgender, Isis. I knew she wasn't going to win. And not because she's a he or because Cover Girl wouldn't allow it. Honestly, I don't think CG would have a problem crowning a transgender if it would send all the transgenders of America running in their heels to their nearest Walmart to buy the product. I just don't think Isis had the 'goods'. Last week, she was more concerned about her tape not concealing her 'goods' under water than taking a good photo. So let that be a lesson to any other transgenders out there who plan to try out for ANTM. You might want to consider packing some duct tape or glue for those wet challenges. Ouch!
So with four black models down, only country bunkin, Joslyn is left to represent.
Joslyn takes great photos but didn't we already have a top model winner with that southern twang.
Ah yes, cycle 6 winner, Danielle Evans. We certainly don't
America's Next Top Model can be seen tonight on CWTV at 8:00 PM EDT.
