And then there were none!

Yes, last night Tyra sent home the last black hope, Dionne Walters, from cycle 8 of CW11's "America's Next Top Model".
The 20 year-old from Montgomery, AL was crashed yesterday after a grueling deliberation by the judges. Eventhough Natasha came down with a cold and wasn't able to pull off a good photo and had all the girls vote her as having the least potential, the judges still chose the lippy Russian over the "mean-faced" Bama.

To be honest, after last week's episode, I was almost positive Dionne would go home this week, but half way through last night's episode I was getting the feeling it would be Natasha that would be homeward bound.
But in the end, Dionne sealed her own fate when asked by the judges who she felt had the most potential to be ANTM and she chose Jaslene over herself. Especially when all the other girls that followed voted for themselves. Tyra said it best, "if you don't beleive in yourself why should anybody else?"
Truth of the matter is this girl did have the "goods" but just didn't know what to with it. I, like most people, always used to think being a model was just about having a pretty face. But if you can't smile with your eyes....it's a wrap! Who knew!?!
Next week will be the season finale as Natasha, Renee and Jaslene duke it out for the "top" spot. So who do you think will be the winner? I am placing my bets on Jaslene. She brong brought the cha-cha to ANTM this season and who knew cha-cha could look this good when met with high fashion.

So Who is 'News'worthy in the Mornings?
Ahhh..the news! We read it, watch it, live it...hell..we are it! I love getting my daily does of current events. I dont know about you but I prefer to start my mornings off with a good dose of news. While some people prefer radio and others to read the paper. For me, it's NBC's "Today Show".
Although I haven't completely warmed up to Meredith and I think the show is way overdue a black lead anchor, I am still a faithful watcher. As long as Al Roker remains, I really can't be mad. Yeah he's a little goofy at times. But it could easily be a white goofy man in his place. Like Willard Scott!!!
Every now and then I like to check out the other morning shows just to see who is on there representin'. ABC's "Good Morning America",has the effervescent Robin Roberts as third anchor. I have to admit, had I not been a faithful Today Show watcher I'd probably make the switch to watch Ms. Robin.

And over at CBS, "The Early Show's" Russ Mitchell adds some hue to this white-washed morning show.
CBS...don't you worry. We will find you some real black folks yet. Just you wait until my television show is ready for production. I am going to demand that it airs on CBS.
But..CBS is not nearly as bad as Fox. Fox's morning show is called "Fox & Friends". This morning show is hosted by not 1, not 2 but 3 white people. Talk about wanting your morning coffee light! No asian, hispanic or african american anchors out there in need of a job Fox? I thought that was the case. You might want to change that morning show title to 'Fox and White Friends".
Not sure if CW11 or My9 has a morning show. But I'm gonna need someone to create an all black anchored morning show asaNOW!
What you think? Would it last?
Speaking of the news, I would like to extend my prayers to the Magassa family and all who are suffering right now as a result of the 8 lives taken in that tragic fire in the Bronx. This story is heart wrenching.
God Bless.

You want Fame? Well, Fame Costs!
Initially when I created this blog I wasn't going to focus on reality TV. I mean do we really enjoy watching our black people reveal on camera just how ghetto, stupid, angry, silly and ignorant we can be?
Hell to the......yea!
I dont know about you but give me a laid back Sunday and a good reality TV marathon of CW11's America's Next Top Model, VH1's I Love New York, MTV's Making The Band or Bravo's Being Bobby Brown and the next thing you know...it's Monday morning!
Interestingly enough though, one of the characters in my script is actually being followed by cameras, as he/she is the subject of a reality TV show. So one can get ideas from watching reality TV. And yes, some of them are enjoyable to watch. I repeat...some!
Last night, I watched CW11's 2-hours of cat fights, posing for the camera, dancing to the beat, hitting that note, walking "fierce" and just about anything these girls have to do to either be crowned America's Next Top Model or a Pussycat Doll.
I, for one, am still searching along with Tyra Banks for America's Next Top Model. After two black attempts(Eva and Danielle) and countless white fails....we have yet to find her. Will this be the season?
This season we had 6 hopefuls of the non-caucasian persuasion. Last week Kathleen's ass was sent home. I know she is black from Brooklyn but what is up with that accent?. I was raised in the bronx and so I know that accent very well. One can call it 'cha-cha'. If I had to define "cha-cha" I would say it's a spanish slang which kinds of mean ghetto in a way. Nonetheless...that chick is definitely cha-cha!
My bets are on Felicia or Whitney this year. Felicia because I realized yesterday she takes a mean photo. And Whitney might get it this year simply because Tyra is seemingly on one ole "I'm Bringing Fat Back" campaign. Who do you think have a chance?
If you missed it...check it out here.
As if watching these 13 girls compete for an hour wasn't enough. Right afterwards I sat through the encore episode of The Search for The Next Doll. Or as I see it, Making The Band 4. This contest is very similar to the MTV competetion and a friend of mine even pointed out that one of the girls competing actually was on Making The Band-Season 3. So tell me this? If you didn't have what it takes to make it to Danity Kane, do you really think you have what it takes to be a Pussycat Doll? Who knows? She might pull a J-Hud!
Of the 9 girls there are only 3 girls that I will even watch to see if win. Mariela, Asia and Anastacia. Marieal won't win because she can't sing and Anastacia reminds me of JLO(fly girl era). Asia is the darkest girl on here which leads me to beleive Robin Antin clearly didn't go to the hood looking for the next doll. But she did go there to get next week's guest judge.

Watch as the original Pussycat Doll of Hip Hop, Lil' Kim, joins the show.
