Well look who found full-time work in this bad economy.
Musician, comedian, actor, producer and part-time chapperone to wife Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon has just inked a deal to host NBC's 'America's Got Talent'.
The news comes on the heels of last week's announcement that former host Jerry Springer would be stepping down as host.
While he is set to host the show in its upcoming fourth season, it seems NBC have some more plans in the works for Cannon.
Network chief Ben Silverman says there are "multiple projects we are looking to do with Nick at NBC."
I don't know how I feel about this just yet. I hope some of these 'multiple projects' include some acting roles. I can't hate on Cannon's hustle but at 28, I'd like to see him do more feature films and less of these hosting gigs.
The fourth season of America's Got Talent will air this summer. Check your local listing for times.

Gossip Friday: Oprah's Blond Moment and Star Fires Back At Babs
So turns out all the gossip last week over Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's elopement was actually all truth.
This week photos of the happy couple circulated the internet made possible by People Magazine who got the inside scoop on the wedding. Even Oprah had to add to the talk on a live show this week where she comments on overlooking some of the clues while interviewing Mariah just the week before.
Oprah was clearly having a blond moment. She could have broken that scoop a week earlier if she just had paid more attention to the clues.
Anyhoo...
Last week we polled BONTV on how long you think the Nariah nuptials will last and we have a tie.
36% of voters feel the Nariah wedding will last either 2 weeks or 6-12 months while 27% of voters feel it will only last 1 month.
Well, for those of you who voted 2 weeks, we will know in just 1 more week if you were right. I personally dont think this will last any longer than a year.
And who's ready for a cat fight?
Star Jones has thrown the first
Star tells UsWeekly:
"It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book. It speaks to her true character,"
Ouch!
Don't hold back Star. Tell us how you really feel.

That's all folks! Have a great weekend!

Gossip Friday: Nick Cannon & Mimi Tie The Knot
At one of our faithful reader's request, I have decided to allow one day of the week to be dedicated to gossip.
Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to the kick off of Gossip Fridays!By now I am sure everyone has heard of the quicky wed between 'actor turn wannabe singer', Nick Cannon and 'singer still trying to turn actor', Mariah Carey.
The two reportedly have only been dating for a month. (Who knew!?!)
Earlier this week Mimi was spotted at the Tribeca Film Festival sporting a rock similar to the one given to Cannon's ex-fiance, Selita Ebanks. Another quick proposal that came only after 6 weeks of dating. (Anybody see a pattern here?) And now it has been confirmed that the two have tied the knot in a private ceremony at Mimi's recently purchased home in Eleuthera in the Bahamas.
So what do we make of all this? Well if we look at the history of celebs erratic behavior we can only draw one of the following conclusions:
A. Mimi is pregnant and took advice from preggers Beyonce who also forced her baby daddy into a quicky private wedding.
B. Mimi is still drunk from all the bubbly celebrations having had the No. 1 cd in the country for two weeks in a row and will be headed for divorce court next week when Madonna takes the No. 1 spot causing Mimi to sober up.
C. Mimi and Cannon are trying to hide the fact they both are bi, which in this day and age, does anybody still care?
D. Mimi is on her way to yet another breakdown.
Take your pick because any of the above makes for a great headline for next week's Gossip Friday!
Have a great weekend!
